The human condition, with all its complexities, is at the core of my exploration, particularly through the human face. Self-portraits become a medium to confront emotions like fear, anxiety, anger, and desire, translating these into the very structure of my own visage. Each line and brushstroke is a reflection of an inner narrative, capturing raw psychological states
.
Working primarily with oil on canvas and paper, I employ techniques like transparency and impasto, layering paint and scratching the surface to push the material to its limits. This meticulous process is both technical and psychological, a constant evolution where the mind steps aside and instinct guides the hands. The head, as a central form, serves as a vessel for life?s experiences and emotions, where even the simplest line can convey profound ideas.
Influenced by artists such as Francis Bacon, Georg Baselitz, and Willem de Kooning, the work speaks in layers?each a snapshot of the emotional landscape at a given moment. The challenges of finding space and time for creating art are channeled into this methodical approach, which transforms the struggle into raw, expressive form. Through this meticulous process, the work becomes a dialogue between material and mind, offering insight into the depths of human experience.
