Acrylic on canvas.

The solitary tree with its bright orange and red coloured  leaves strike a  brilliant contrast with the grey skies and water. It is standing alone but is so strikingly beautiful.

The same holds good in life too at times, give it a thought!

 Dr. Meenakshi Singhal

My passion for art has been ingrained in me since childhood. As a teenager, I was completely engrossed in painting oil on canvas and experimenting with the strokes of my brushes. But as often happens in life, destiny had different plans for me. I became a doctor, serving the nation in the Armed Forces at its borders. During this time, there was little room for art—my patients and their well-being became my central focus, as it should have been.

After spending 30 years as an accomplished radiologist, I decided it was time to return to my roots and pursue my love for painting full-time. The transition felt natural. My dual journey as a medical professional and a painter has given me the opportunity to explore new ways in which we can nurture and heal the body, mind, and soul. This path has continuously inspired me to learn, grow, and discover new ways to express the complexity of human experiences.

Today, painting has become a form of meditation for me. While my primary medium is acrylic on canvas, I love to explore and incorporate new materials and techniques into my work, constantly pushing the boundaries of my creativity. Through painting, I’m able to find a deeper connection to myself, and, in turn, connect with others in a way that words alone often cannot.

Medicine heals the body, Art heals the soul.
