As a retired Aviation Medicine Specialist, I now find myself reconnecting with the artistic passions that have always been an integral part of my life. My journey with art began during my childhood at Lawrence School Sanawar, nestled in the hills, where I explored a variety of creative mediums, from music and carpentry to clay modeling and batik. Despite the demands of my medical career in the Indian Air Force, my love for art never waned, and now, in retirement, I have the time to fully immerse myself in this creative pursuit.
My work primarily utilizes ink and pencil on paper, mediums that allow me to return to the fundamentals of art. I draw inspiration from the architecture, historic buildings, and the diverse people I have encountered throughout my life. Having started as a caricaturist for my family, I?ve always been fascinated by the unique beauty of structures and the stories they hold, alongside the individuals who inhabit these spaces.
My artistic themes are deeply rooted in the past, influenced by everything from the Shakespearean era to the futuristic worlds of Star Wars. Now, I have the luxury of time to sit on my balcony in Kasauli, where my imagination wanders through these realms, both backward and forward. For me, there are no boundaries in art. This phase of my life is about rediscovery exploring the things I missed out on and enjoying the simple, profound pleasure of creating.
